Gillespie Dance Theatre was founded by Tori Gillespie with a clear and purposeful vision: to bring a higher standard of dance education to Glasgow, Kentucky. Drawing on collegiate-level training and professional performance experience across Chicago, Bardstown, Louisville, and Nashville, Mrs. Tori has created a studio environment where artistry, technique, and personal growth go hand in hand.

While GDT is proud to be in its inaugural season under this name, the program is built on eight years of established community presence — now reimagined with elevated instruction and a renewed commitment to the students and families of Glasgow.

What truly distinguishes GDT is our approach to performance. Each semester, we produce a full-length, story-based theatrical production — a format that moves well beyond the traditional recital model. Every show is thoughtfully designed to feature each dancer in a meaningful role, ensuring that every student experiences the reward of true performance, not simply a moment on stage.

At Gillespie Dance Theatre, we believe that great training and great performance are not separate goals — they are one and the same. We invite dancers of all ages and experience levels to discover what it means to learn, grow, and perform with intention.
